Take a stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the view while searching for this cache.
Many of Tauranga's earliest commercial buildings were erected along The Strand and some still exist today. Land was reclaimed along the waterfront for construction of the railway in the early 1900s which ran alongside Tauranga's coastline. The Strand has been re-developed in recent years and is now lined mostly with cafes and bars. (ref. <http://tauranga.kete.net.nz> Tauranga Local History)
The newest addition is the children’s playground, which was opened in June 2013. There is plenty of parking available and also public toilets nearby. Fish’n’chips might be a good choice for lunch or dinner!
The cache only contains a log sheet so bring your own pen or pencil. There is no room for swaps or trackables.
This is a high muggle area so stealth is definitely needed. Please take care with young children as there is water, high traffic movement and a railway line close by.
