Pierwotnie gotycki z ok. 1298 r., przebudowany w latach 1567 - 1596, w stylu późnego renesansu. Wzbogacony o wysmukłą wieżę i zegar.
Wymiary ratusza: 13,20 x 22,80 m i wysokość ok. 47,5 m.
Na jego zachodniej ścianie znajduje się średniowieczny wzorzec miary długości tzw. pręt chełmiński o dł. 4,35 m. Od średniowiecza do 1975 r. siedziba władz miejskich, a od 1983 r. Muzeum Ziemi Chełmińskiej.

The place
Originally Gothic from 1298, converted in 1567 - 1596 into late-Renaissance style.
Enriched by a slender tower and a clock.
It is a rectangular building: 13,20 m wide, 22,80 m long and about 47,50 m high.
At its western wall there is the medieval length measure, the so-called “Chełmno rod” - 4,35 m long. From the Middle Ages to 1975 it was the seat of the municipal authorities. Since 1983 it houses the Museum of the Chełmno Land (Muzeum Ziemi Chełmińskiej).
