The University of Edinburgh decided to have a grant portal to the King's Buildings site and this is what they came up with.
Obviously, Scots love walls and dykes. It is an important statement for marking their territory and demonstrating their wealth and importance...
However, associations are different. Having grown up in Berlin, this place reminds me very much of the Berlin Wall, which has disappeared almost 25 years ago....
The same, dull, grey walls with the deserted space in front of it. At night, you can admire the cold, bright lights, which leave no space for hiding. In the dark, I always expect that a VoPo (the ones who once guarded the Wall) with his gun comes to arrest me...
