Geocache Description:

~FLYING JEWEL~

Early Spanish settlers called hummingbirds flying jewels, “Joyas Voladoras”

“Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration. Hummingbirds open our eyes to the wonder of the world and inspire us to open our hearts to loved ones and friends. Like a hummingbird, we aspire to hover and to savor each moment as it passes, embrace all that life has to offer and to celebrate the joy of everyday. The hummingbird’s delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life’s sweetest creation.” Papyrus

I have always thought hummingbirds to be an inspiration. So small, yet so powerful. So delicate, yet robust. I always feel lucky when I have a few faithful little jewels that visit my porch for the summer. I've especially thought it to be a good omen to be able to see one while out on trails, it sure does the heart good. This cache is placed for my love of hummingbirds.

You will be taking the Big Tree Trail and have to go a little ways off trail to find the cache. You will want to keep your "eyes up" while searching. You can remove the container from its resting place, but please kindly return it exactly as you found it. You will only need to remove the top of the container. The container is sized to hold small trackables and swag.
