Flyttblock är stora stenblock som blivit transporterade med hjälp av is, det kan vara inlandsisar eller glaciärer. Man anser att de flesta flyttblocken i Sverige idag har blivit transporterade under den senaste istiden. Då isen sedermera smälte undan hamnade flyttblocken på den underliggande markytan ... eller som i detta fall, ovanpå en annan sten.
Stenen var förr ett bra riktmärke för de som vandrade mellan byarna och platsen var ett lämpligt ställe att ta en rast på under färden.

A glacial erratic is a piece of rock that differs from the size and type of rock native to the area in which it rests. "Erratics" take their name from the Latin word errare, and are carried by glacial ice until dropped off at the ground ... or in this case, on top of another rock.
The rock was once a good landmark for those walking between the villages and the location was a good place to take a break while on the trails.

Stigstarten pekas ut av skylten nere till höger i bilden ovan. Stigen kan vara ganska svår att se, men markeras annars som i bilden ovan nere till vänster, dvs av vita färgband på träden. Där stigen korsar myrområden finns det spångar.
Notera; Det är tveksamt om vägen upp till stigstart är plogad vintertid.

The trailhead is marked by the sign seen bottom right in the picture above. The trail can be quite difficult to see, but is otherwise marked by white ribbons on the trees, as seen lower left in the picture above. There are footbridges where the path crosses bog areas.
Note; It's doubtful if the road to the trail head is cleared from snow during wintertime.
