Geocache Description:

This may take some looking; may be tough for beginners. The ground is a bit uneven throughout the park . . . watch your step. BRING A PEN/PENCIL. Will probably need a long pencil or tool to remove cache from its hiding spot. Replace as found. Tweezers may be needed to remove the log.

Byers Woods Park is one of the Ashland County Park Districts eighteen parks.  These are multi-use parks, many of which have geocaches available.  Byers Woods is one of the first to become part of the park district, which has celebrated its 19th anniversary.  This 130 acre park surrounds the reclaimed previous county landfill.  There are 4.5 miles of hiking trails that wind through grassland, woods and scrubland that make this an excellent bird-watching site.  There is a list of 144 bird species seen at this park.  Bob-o-links and meadowlarks can be seen perched on the white vent pipes during June and July.  Three ponds are available for fishing.  There was an extensive butterfly garden beside the parking area and kiosk.

Small dark container with log.  BYOP. TWEEZERS may be needed to remove the log.

There is ample parking at the end of the drive into the park, not far from the cache. :)

This cache is placed with the approval of the Ashland County Park District. CONGRATULATIONS "ZIG7" for being the First to Find!
