I pass this rest area quite often and I like to stop here to stretch my legs. It has a lovely picnic area as well as the Veterans Memorial Park. I like that you can walk to the memorial from either the northbound side or the southbound side of the park.
This particular geocache is located on the northbound side of the rest area. I had the hardest time getting my GPS to cooperate with me because of the way the park slopes down into a small valley. The GPS just did not want to find a signal between the hill and the trees. I was finally able to get a reading however. Let me know if you come up with better coordinates! While I was there, I didn't see a single person anywhere near me, but of course if the rest area is busier than it was for me, you will need to use your stealth skills.
You are looking for a small camo'd LockNLock container. Its original contents include logbook, pen, lizard, and horse. It has room for SMALL Travel Bugs and trade items. Please remember to trade up or trade equal. PLEASE RE-HIDE CACHE JUST LIKE YOU FOUND IT OR HIDE IT BETTER! Your fellow geocachers will appreciate it.
