nan-d1955: Well, it's been fun having this cache in this park, but it's time to remove this one. There has been recent landscaping and renovation to the sign on which the cache was placed. Perhaps I can find another place to put this type of hide and continue honoring my daughter's clever hide in our front yard. Hope everyone enjoyed the hunt and thanks for the favorite points. [:D]

Geocache Description:

A cache placed in honor of my daughter, LAFing Bird, who has inspired me to place geocaches of my own and with whom I have shared many enjoyable geocaching adventures.

I was driving down Pershing one day on the way to the 'home' office to talk to my boss. As I passed Flynn Park, I thought, "Hmmmmm, I wonder if there is a geocache here?" So, I pulled out the iPhone and checked the handy-dandy app. Low and behold, this park had no cache.

So, I parked the car and started searching for a suitable spot to place one. After finding a potential location, that would be far away from the playground in this park, I began to get some ideas for a container and soon knew the perfect place for a cache. This is my first attempt at creating a cache container and the idea came from my daughter who used one of these for the cache she placed in our front yard. I usually geocache solo, so if I came home and told her that I couldn't find a cache, she would say that it was because she wasn't there. MANY times, while OCW LAFing Bird, I'd be ready to give up the search and she'd find it, thus putting an end to my misery. She has always enjoyed seeking caches with the higher difficulty levels. While this cache may take some of you a bit of searching, others will put "quick P&G" in your log. Whichever you are, I hope you enjoy this one. There is plenty of parking a short distance from the cache.
