There are 1/2 size of replication of "I.RO.HA 48" and "Honjo Fukagawa16" of Matoi.
Matoi… It is an object used in Edo period Japan by firemen to notify people of a fire within a building.
It was put on the nearby roof of the burning building by the Matoi holder.
Each different group of firemen in the Edo period had their own Matoi to identify themselves.
There are coloured woodblock prints depicting a scene of fire and fire costume of the Edo period, and the fire engine which was really used in those days such as Benz Metz ladder automobiles, Stutz fire pump car-Nissan 180 fire pump car.
Also you can get into a fire fighting helicopter.
In addition, it holds the exhibition on a theme concerning the fire fighting.
This museum is able to enjoy from children to adults.
四谷消防署と同じ建物にある消防関係の博物館です。
地下1階、地上10階の広い館内では、武家火消制度が始まった江戸時代から現代までの資料を展示。
いろは48組・本所深川16組の纏（まとい）が、1/2縮尺で復元し展示されてます。
江戸時代の火事装束や火事の場面を描いた錦絵、実際に使われていた消防車（ベンツ・メッツ梯子自動車・スタッツ消防ポンプ自動車・ニッサン180消防ポンプ自動車など）もあり、消防ヘリコプターには実際に乗ることができます。
また消防にまつわるテーマで企画展も開催しています。
小さなお子様から大人まで楽しめる博物館です。
建物角にあるカリヨンが１時間に１度動きます。
