Pinkery 03 – Broad Mead |
Broad Mead is to the west of Pinkery Farm, which began life as one of the farmsteads created in the 19th century by the tireless Knight family whose mission it was to tame the high acres of Exmoor - and it remained a farm until 1969, when it was purchased by Somerset County Council. Today the Broad Mead area is crossed by means of the Tarka Trail footpath, which goes though from Woodbarrow Gate across to Lew Combe. To the west of the trail are fertile farming fields and North Regis Common, all home to the many species of sheep who make this land their own. |
