Pinkery 04 – Yarbury Combe Head
Yarbury Combe Head offers extensive views in both directions towards the open moorland of Somerset and the farmland of Devon. The area is home to sheep farming with various sheep pens in the area. A sheep pen is also called a folding, sheepfold or sheepcote. Modern shepherds more commonly use terms such as closing or confinement pen for small sheep pens. Most structures today referred to as sheepfolds are ancient dry stone semicircles
Cache Information This particular cache is a tape covered spice tub which is hidden on top the hedge / bank (The one on the valley or Eastern side; to the right of the gateway if walking the circuit numerically) four steps up the bank. The container is placed in the base of a tree, and is on the Pinkery Pond side of the hedge after the actual gatepost
