Parking près de l'écluse de "saint-jean", petite ballade de 500 m qui longe en partie le canal du midi et en bordure de champs de céréales, en particulier de Blé Dur que l'Aude, de part sa très bonne qualité, exporte aux grands fabriquants de pâtes alimentaires (pâtes Panzani ...) et aux semouliers du Maghreb (graines du couscous). A proximité de la cache, ne pas manquer la magnifique vue sur la cité. Attention présence de nombreux moldus pour le 14 juillet : date à éviter ! De retour au parking poursuivre la ballade de l'autre côté de la route jusqu'à la prochaine écluse (500 m) cette portion du Canal (appelée "bief") est classée car elle date de la création du Canal sous Louis XVI (allée de Cyprès). Cette écluse est remarquable car elle est à la fois un canal et un pont qui enjambe une rivière qui se jette dans le fleuve Aude (nouvelle cache en projet). Parking lot near the lock of "saint-jean", small walk of 500 m which goes partially along the Canal du Midi and in border of fields of cereal, in particular hard wheat ( of very good quality in the Aude, and which is exported to the big manufacturers of pastas i.e.Panzani, and to Maghreb for the couscous). Near the hiding place, do not miss the magnificent view on the Cité of Carcassonne. Beware presence of numerous moldus on July 14th: date to avoid! On returning to the parking lot continue the walk on the other side of the road up to the next lock (500 m) this portion of the Canal du Midi (called "bief") is classified because it dates back to the creation of the Canal under Louis XVI (cypress hedge). This lock is remarkable because it is at the same time the Canal and a bridge which steps over a river.
