Geocache Description:

We have only lived in Hague Bar for a few years but its an area that I have been drawn to on and off during my life, be it for the many footpaths and bridleways or the friendly local hostelry's.

With being off work on paternity leave I found that I couldn't stray far from home to go for dog walks. As I had found all the caches in the area this meant that I was resorting to some old routes to exercise the dogs. Some of these walks I have done hundreds of times but there is one in particular that I loved and hadn't done for some time. It was whilst doing this walk that I thought about doing this mini series that follows that route.

The series takes you from Hague Bar up Hague Fold road and on to the top of Mellor moor before looping back down to Hague Bar car park via Brook Bottom. Along the route you get great views across the surrounding area including Disley, New Mills, Marple Ridge, Lyme Park as well a views across the Peak District national park. It's not the longest walk in the area but if you take your time and take in the views it will take a couple of hours before dropping you down to Brook Bottom for a refreshing drink.

This cache is a small beaker shaped container which has be hidden in a location with stunning views out over the Peak District. The cache is located next to Excalibur's stone under a rock, but NOT in the drystone wall.
