Welcome to Gathland State Park home to the Civil War Correspondents Monument, the South Mountain Battlefield, the Townsend Estate Museum and a portion of the Appalachian Trail.
There are lots of great caches in this state park but many require a long hike. We thought it would be fun to place a park and grab in the area for a quick smilie.
Plenty of parking is available. This is a popular spot with hikers and history enthusiasts during the warmer months, especially on weekends so some stealth may be necessary.
The cache is a micro camouflaged to fit in with it's environment.
The park is open 8 am to sunset. There is no entrance fee.
