Geocache Description:

In the small village of Crook is an old historical feature dating back to times before lots of fenced fields. There is also a handy 'watering hole' nearby! An easy drive-by on the B5284 from Bowness to Kendal.

You're looking for the Pound or Pinfold just west of the pub. It was restored in 1992 and has a Millennium monument within. There's a comfy bench, and a source of water in the corner for those held within. If you don't know about Pinfolds or Pounds, follow the GPS and a handy sign on the gate will tell you all about them.

Park right next to the pound by the phone box. Please be gentle with the surroundings and re-hide well. It is not IN the wall, but nearby. Hide with subtlety but make sure out of sight. Had to leave a new one as previous bigger cache had stones piled on it so leaked. Never pile stones on caches.

This cache replaces an earlier one with, hopefully, a simple but effective hide. (GC1PHZY)
