The Challenge
Compose a list of found geocaches that contains one cache for every digit in the base-31 system as the first symbol following the "GC" prefix in the same U.S. state. For example, this listing, GC4H5VZ, would count as "4" if it were allowed. Digits in the base-31 system are 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A B C D E F G H J K M N P Q R T V W X Y and Z. Since there isn't a cache with a "0" as the first digit after "GC", it can be excluded.
Rules
- All previous finds and geocaching types are valid with the following exceptions: other challenges, grandfathered moving caches, "armchair" virtuals (e.g. no verification required), locationless (reverse) hides and Wherigo.
- This challenge cache does not count as a find for your list.
- A total of 30 caches must be found to complete the challenge (one for each symbol minus "0").
- Every cache counted for this challenge must be placed in the same U.S. state of your choosing.
- When logging online, your base-31 list must either be included in your log or attached as a bookmark list (such as this one).
- Locating the geocache container and signing the physical log at the indicated coordinates is required.
- Signing the physical log before finishing the challenge is acceptable if the challenge is completed within the following six months.
- Do not post a "Found It" log until the challenge is completed. If the physical log has been signed, a "Write Note" log may act as a placeholder.
- The challenge issuer reserves the right to delete logs found fraudulent without notification.
Making a GC Number List
GC numbers for your finds can be retrieved from your geocaching public profile. Click on your username at the top upper right of this page and then choose the "Your Public Profile" link in the right-hand column. Open the "Geocaches" tab and select "All Geocache Finds". Go through your finds (GC number and state are below the cache title) and copy the qualifying caches to a text editor for later posting in your log.
For premium members, a pocket query of all finds ("My Finds" at the bottom of this page) can be downloaded and searched. Open the GPX file in a text editor and search for <name>GC? where ? is the alphanumeric you are searching for. Fifteen lines below the GC number is an entry, <groundspeak:state>, that indicates in which state the cache resides. You can either copy the appropriate caches to a new text file for later inclusion in a log or make a bookmark list. Information on creating bookmark lists can be found here. Be sure to set your bookmark list as public, and add this challenge page so it'll be easier to find.
Afterthoughts
