Geocache Description:

Grab me during the night! It’s not necessary to walk inside the fence - just be aware of the muggles living in nearby apartments. If you’re mistaken for a robber, the blue lights will visit you. Grab me during the day! The landowner knows all about geocaching but he may be too busy to help you. And don't block the driveway or accidentally park in the deep ditch (oops!). Bring a tool to sign the log. Come pay me a visit soon! I’ve got a great view of storm debris that I can’t wait to share.

It was a regular summer day at work in July of 1991. Then the storm came. Large white cinderblocks were thrown into cars. Steel beams were shot through nearby apartment complexes. The devastating damage consisted of a narrow line stretching from Industrial Road to the houses on Montgomery Street. In the calm that followed, it was touted as “Amazing!” that no lives were lost. The business closest to the geocache lost three walls and the roof. The double brick and concrete wall on the south side and the small bathroom that the wall protected were are all that remained of the business. The six people, employees and customers, squeezed together tighter in order to crack open the bathroom door. Only because the door opened inward were the six able to emerge from the spontaneous shelter. Only because the bathroom had a second ceiling, which was used for overhead storage, were the six protected from falling blocks of concrete, bricks, and flying glass. Surveying the site - all was demolished. Amazingly, there were no injuries. The cars? Well, cars can be painted and windshields can be replaced. The business first reopened under portable tents and tarps with the intent to fix the cars that could be repaired. The concrete and brick building, once covered with a collage of various foreign cars, was replaced with a plain metal building. Depending on the direction you use to approach this cache, you may step through some old debris that has been aging for over 20 years or you may see the remnants of the only original wall left standing. Watch your step. Watch where you park your car. The storm of July 24, 1991 has caused enough damage.

Grads to the FTF Dr. Henry Jones Jr. I still own him the green George.
This cache also earn my very first favorite point on a cache.. Thank You!! engineer24, I am glad you enjoyed the hide.

Watch your step as I see the ground is washing away in places and during our wet rainy times, it will be a bit interesting to reach this cache. I have up the rating due to this.
