Rural Addressing is a collaborative community project co-administered by Land and Property Information and local councils. It is a simple and straightforward means to identify and locate rural properties throughout Australia.
Rural addressing assigns an individual number to a property based on distance from the starting point (beginning of a road/ a road intersection etc) - with odd numbers on the left and even numbers on the right.
This easy to understand and apply method provides a standardised means of locating rural properties and avoids delays and inconvenience for emergency services and the delivery of goods and services to the community.
