People have lived in this area, travelling this road for over 150 years. Hard to believe, with such vast woodland. Here is a marsh, swamp or pond, eerily quiet, and you will pull in and stop and walk to the cache. Be careful walking - this is not a maintained spot so there may be rocks, holes or other things you could trip over. Enjoy the view of a beaver house, and maybe see the beavers in action. There are always crows in the dead trees, and every year an eagle pair hatch their young near here. Bears have been seen at this spot, as well as moose in the water!
These marshes form relatively quickly, so the dead trees you see in the water could have been alive 50, even 20 years ago. Some of the hardwood trees will stand even longer, making them an eery place. Hanging moss in the dead trees, and sphagnum abounds.
The cache is a vintage Thermos soup container with camoflauge, and you will see where it is tucked into the dead trees. Remember to close it tightly, and replaced the bark covers or whatever is naturally near, to keep out of plain view. It's called Squeaky for a reason!
This may not be accessible in times of flooding (ie. spring melt).
Congrats to andyonmdi for FTF!
