Geocache Description:

Enjoy a look at Texas Longhorn Cattle, usually visiable somewhere in the large pasture on this corner.  Cache not inside the barbwire fence! Upgraded difficulty due to PI and everyone's favorite - green briar!

FTF honor goes to *drum roll*
J27Smith!
Congratulations!

Texas Longhorn Cattle evolved from cattle brought over by the Spanish during the 1400-1500s. Longhorns evolved naturally over 100s of years and were not "man" bred.  Traits that stand out in Texas Longhorn are their natural disease resistance, great longevity, high reproductive rate, ease in birthing, ability to thrive under harsh range conditions, and an ability to defend themselves against predators.  In the 1920s, they almost became extinct but some fast thinking preventing that from happening.  Texas Longhorns are tough!
