4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Amanda Makes You Walk (AMYW) is a series of caches designed to get you walking out and about in Alice Springs.

The world famous Larapinta Trail is 223km long and consists of 12 stages, stretching from Alice Springs to Mount Sonder, the fourth highest mountain in central Australia. You can walk the trail as day, or even short walks, or if you're keen, walk the whole trail from beginning to end, which takes about 15 days (if you dawdle). You can read more about the Larapinta Trail here.

Section 1 of the Trail starts at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station and extends west for 23.9km to Simpsons Gap. It's a fairly easy day walk (takes me about 5-6 hours, but recommended time is 8-9hrs), which takes you into some spectacular country, like the Euro Ridge (pictured below), and provides fabulous views back to Alice Springs and down into Simpsons Gap.

The cache is located somewhere in the shelter. Please ensure that you're careful when you're finding and replacing the cache as this is a high muggle area.
