Take a visit to the Alice Springs Telegraph Station, which is cache central in our glorious little town. To find this cache, you'll need to do the Trig Hill walk. You can access the Trig Hill walk, which is a short 1.2km loop, from the Larapinta Trail shelter, which is at the bottom of the hill as you drive into the Telegraph Station, or at the back of the historic buildings, right near the Todd River. Look for the signs.
The walk is a a very pleasant loop which will take you to Alice Springs's first cemetery, past a few other caches, and up the short, steep Trig Hill for some magic views of Mt Gillen and the MacDonnell Ranges. Along the way, you'll usually see a few Euros (called 'wallaroos' in some parts of Australia). People often mistake these macropods for kangaroos, but they're not. They're smaller than red kangaroos, but much larger and more robust than wallabies.
The cache is a small camo cylinder. Please take great care when retrieving and hiding the cache as this is a high muggle area at times. Good luck. I've hidden this one in a tricky spot!
