This cache is hidden within Byers Woods Park, one of the first parks included in the Ashland County Park District, which has celebrated its 11th anniversary. This 130-acre park surrounds the reclaimed previous county landfill. There are 4.5 miles of hiking trails that wind through a mix of grassland, woods and scrubland which make this an excellent bird-watching site. There is a list of 144 species that have been found in this park. Bob-o-links and meadowlarks can be seen perched on the white vent pipes during June and July. There are three ponds available for fishing. There is also an extensive butterfly garden beside the parking lot and kiosk. If children play on the swing and slide set, please BE CAREFUL, because wasps sometimes build nests underneath, especially during summer months.
You are looking for a camo bison tube, which contains only a log. Please remember to carry a pen or pencil with you--it's a long walk back to the car to get one. :)
There is ample parking at the end of the driveway. CONGRATULATIONS to ZIG7 for FTF! CONGRATULATIONS TO monkeys_dad's kids for being the 2nd to find together and to monkeys_dad for taking his kids on these fun outings!
