Geocache Description:


This windmill is the industrial site of the folk architecture, characteristic of the early 19th century ‘cap’ windmill model. It was built in 1937 by the foreman A. Žeimis. Now it's a private property.



Vencavų vėjo malūną 1937 m. pastatė meistras A. Žeimys, savininko A. Namiko užsakymu. Malūnas veikė iki 1952m. Dabar šis XX a. pirmos pusės architektūros paminklas yra saugomas valstybės. Pastatas gerai matomas kraštovaizdyje, nes stovi ant kalvos, 150m atstumu (pietų kryptimi) nuo Vencavų ežero. Tai tipiškas liaudies architektūros gamybinis pastatas. Iki 1956 m. malūnas veikė, vėliau sunyko jo sparnai, buvo išmontuoti įrengimai. 1980 m. malūnas restauruotas pagal Paminklų konservavimo instituto architektės R.Vėlyvienės projektą. Dabar I-me ir II-me aukšte įrengti poilsio kambariai.
