Die Thelkapelle befindet sich oberhalb von Leuk Stadt (VS), am Ende eines schönen Pfades mit holzgeschnitzten Stationen des Kreuzweges.
Von hier aus hat man einen schönen Blick über das Rhonethal.
Bereits um das Jahr 1717 soll hier eine erste, kleinere Kapelle gestanden haben. Zahlreiche Votivbilder, der Heiligen Familie gewidmet, sind zum Dank für erhörte Bitten, Heilungen und Gebete gestiftet worden, und zeugen von dieser Kapelle als ein traditioneller Wallfahrtsort.
In den neunziger Jahren wurde die Kapelle liebevoll restauriert und 1998 von Bischof Norbert Brunner, Bischof von Sitten, wieder eingeweiht.

La Chapelle de Thel se trouve au-dessus de la ville de Loèche (VS), au bout d'un sentier avec de très jolies stations du Chemin de Croix taillées dans du bois.
De là, vous avez une très belle vue sur la vallée du Rhône.
Déjà en 1717, il y avait une première chapelle plus petite en ce lieu. De nombreuses images ex-voto offertes en reconnaissance pour les prières et guérisons exaucées et obtenues par l'intercession de la Ste Famille, témoignent que cette chapelle est depuis longtemps un lieu traditionnel de pélerinage.
Dans les annéees nonantes, la chapelle fut restauréee avec gand soin et Msgr Norbert Brunner, évêque de Sion, la reconsacra en 1998.

The chapel of Thel is situated above the little town of Leuk (VS) at the end of a path with very nice wooden carved Stations of the Cross. From there you have an amazing view over the Rhone Valley.
Already in 1717, there was a smaller chapel in this place. Many ex-voto pictures, dedicated to the Holy Family, offered in gratefulness for heard prayers and healings, show that this chapel is a very old traditional pilgrimage place.
In the nineties, the chapel was caringly renovated and Mgr Bishop Norbert Brunner, Bishop of Sion, reconsecrated it for worship in 1998.
