Take a look at the new man-made island under construction, but currently signs are posted to stay off. Be aware that the water around this island is very shallow in places (which is part of the reason for the man-made island). This is about a 2-mile round trip paddle from Spindler Marina, or you might consider Waterworks Park at the end of Lorentz Avenue in Peoria.
