A simple trad. In memory of the Manchester Sheffield and Lincoln highlighting the now long closed station.
The cache is placed near the remaining station platform on the closed Marple to Macclesfield railway branch line. The branch opened in 1869 was closed in 1970 following the Beeching Report and the station finally demolished in 1977. The track bed was converted into the Middlewood Way well known in local geocaching circles as home to Grandad John's iconic Middlewood Circuit.
