You are invited to tour the cemetery. The administration building has normal business hours of 8-5 Monday-Friday. The lobby, gravesite locator kiosk, and restrooms are open after hours. In the lobby you will see shadow boxes with displays created by family members to honor loved ones who have recently been interred.
Burial fields exist at the facility to house more than 8,000 veterans and their spouses in their final resting place, either in a vault or in a cremain field. Upright marble headstones, like the ones provided at Arlington National Cemetery, are placed on each grave.
The building to the north is the Committal Plaza, where all gravesite services are held. Beside that is an unfinished grave, to remind us of the soldiers fighting for us now, protecting our freedoms.
To the right of the main gates is a Memorial Garden. (This is near the geocache site.) Families are invited to scatter ashes of veterans in this garden, and the name of their loved one is placed on the wall.
The geocache you seek will not require you to disturb any of the plantings. Please bring something patriotic to trade. Remember: this cemetery exists as a shrine to honor our veterans who have passed.
