We won't ask you to "walk the plank" but you will be required to drive a ROUGH NARROW forestry road that may add some pin striping to your paint. Do not attempt this road without four wheel drive. There are many narrow places along the road where if you meet a vehicle coming from the other direction, someone is going to have to back up in order to pass - but the good news is that the road is seldom used.
This is a series of 10 caches placed on our way up Copper Mountain. Back in the 80's the road was drivable to the old Lookout Tower at the summit, although there is some question about the sanity of those of us that drove to the top back in those days.
The last part of the road to the summit was closed and the lookout was destroyed after a fatal accident when a truck drove off the top, so unless you have an ATV you will need to hike the last few kms.
Most of the caches are placed close to the road with the exception of three that will require a little bit of hiking.
Unless you have an ATV you will need to leave your vehicle at the parking coordinates and hike to this one. There is no place to turn around if you do start up the road.
We have fond memories of this bridge back when it was a rotten old bridge and was in disrepair. About the fifth big 4X4 to attempt the crossing had it's front end fall through about half way across. Thankfully it has been repaired and is now safe for recreation vehicles/horse/mountain bikes/ and hikers to cross - no cars and trucks though.
