Der Türlersee liegt zum grössten Teil auf dem Gemeindegebiet von Aeugst. Der See ist rund 1,4 Kilometer lang und etwa 500 Meter breit. Am südöstlichen Ufer liegt ein Campingplatz und das Strandbad "Türlen". Im Norden verlässt der Fluss Reppisch den See.
Mit dem Weg um den See und durch die umliegenden Wälder ist der See ein beliebtes Naherholungsgebiet. Ein Strandbad sowie weitere Strände und Stege bieten Bademöglichkeiten. In erster Linie ist die Landschaft am Türlersee ein vielfältiges Natur- und Landschaftsschutzgebiet mit Naturufern, artenreichen Flach- und Hangmooren und Trockenwiesen. Als Laichplatz für Grasfrösche und Erdkröten ist der See von kantonaler Bedeutung. 1944 wurde die erste Verordnung zum Schutze des Türlersees erlassen, die wegen des stetig ansteigenden Zustroms von Besuchern 1998 und 2001 (Schutzverordnung vom 17. Dezember 2001) angepasst wurde. Eine intensive Erholungsnutzung ist aus diesem Grund nur in den abgegrenzten Bereichen möglich: Im Gebiet des Campingplatzes, nahe der Kantonsstrasse am nördlichen Ende des Sees und beim sogenannten «Hexengraben». Wegen seiner windgeschützten Lage zwischen Albis und Aeugsterberg wird das Wasser des Türlersees kaum umgewälzt. Deshalb wird die Wasserumwälzung im Winter mit einer Zirkulationsanlage unterstützt.
Praktische Informationen:
- Bitte beachten Sie, dass viele Bereiche rund um den Türlersee sind Teil eines Naturschutzgebiet. Bitte respektieren Sie die Natur und keine Zäune überqueren.
- Die "Türlersee Karte" hat wichtige Informationen über das Naturschutzgebiet (und Bonus Trailheads). Bitte lesen, drucken und bringen Sie diesen Flyer mit.
- Die Geocaching Reise rund um den See ist 4 km und dauert etwa 1 1/2 bis 2 Stunden zu Fuss.
- Alle Caches kann durch folgenden Pfad entlang des Sees erreicht werden.
- Velofahren ist an vielen Strecken rund um den See nicht erlaubt.
- Es gibt viele Mugglers um Türlersee den ganzen Tag, das ganze Jahr. Wenn ein Fund wegen Mugglers nicht möglich ist, ignorieren Sie es bitte.
- Spielzeug, Trackables und Münzen kann bevorzugt in Cache 1 - Türlersee Rundweg anfang, gelegt werden.

The geocaching series "Türlersee Rundweg" has 11 caches, the last one being a Mystery cache. Answers to the mystery questions can be found at the different cachesites. The bonus cache is not available in winter.
Please read all the below practical information before embarking on the tour.
Türlersee is a lake in the district of Affoltern, Canton of Zurich, Switzerland. It lies on the border of the municipalities of Aeugst and Hausen am Albis at an elevation of 643 m. The lake has an area of 0.49 km² (maximum length 1.4 km, width 500 m). At the south-east side you find the camping site and the beach "Türlen". In the north, the river Reppisch flows from the lake.
With the path around the lake and through the surrounding woods, the lake is a popular recreation area. Several places offer swimming facilities. The landscape of Türlersee is a wealth of nature and landscape conservation area with natural banks, with a spawning ground for frogs and toads. In 1944, the first regulation to protect the Türlersees was adopted, because of the steadily increasing number of visitors. Recreational use is for this reason only in possible in the areas of the camping site, near the main road at the northern end of the lake and the so-called "Hexengraben". Because of its sheltered position between Albis and Aeugsterberg the water of Türlersees is hardly circulated. Therefore, the water circulation is supported in the winter with a circulation system.
Practical information:
- Please notice that many areas around Türlersee are part of a nature reserve (Naturschutzgebiet). Please respect the nature and do not cross any fences.
- The "Türlersee map" has important information about Protection Zones of the nature reserve (and Bonus Trailheads). Please read, print and bring this flyer with you.
- The Geocaching trip around the lake is 4 km and takes around 1 1/2 to 2 hours by foot.
- All caches can be reached by following the path along the lake.
- Cycling is not allowed at many stretches around the lake.
- There are many mugglers around Türlersee all day, all year. If a find is hampered by mugglers, please disregard it.
- Toys, trackables and coins may preferable be placed in cache 1 (Türlersee Rundweg anfang)
- There is very poor GPS signal in the woods, especially at cache 4. Please follow the hint.
- Türlersee is easy to reach by public transport. Take bus line 235 to Türlersee or 240 to Riedmatt.
- Drinking water is to be found nearby caches 4 and 8.
- During winter with snow, only these caches are available: 2, 5, 9 and 10
- There are fireplaces many places around the lake.
- Toilets by Camping Site (entrance fee may apply).
- Parking by waypoint.
