There is an access road on the back side of the cemetary. You do not need to enter the cemetary plot area at all. Be respectful of the area. If a funeral is being held, please come back another time. Ground is very flat.
I pass by the Blue Door Cemetary every day. I wondered why it is named after a door as there is not a door in sight. Mr. and Mrs. Vanderburg purchased this land in 1871 for the Vanderburg United Methodist Church. It was a white church with a front door painted blue. Thus the name. The cemetary was located on the property also. In 1914 the church relocated south of this location on the same side of the road. The original church was destroyed in a big wind storm in 1919. The cemetary remains. Please locate the cache at GZ, open up the door, come on in, hang up your coat and make yourself comfortable. Have fun caching!!
Congratulations to Camp North for first to find!
