The Monastery of Asomaton is situated in the lush green Asomatiano Valley, at the intersection of the central road of Amari. The date of its foundation is unknown, its existence has been certified in the II. Byzantine Period. In former times the monastery had the characteristic of a fortress. Unfortunately today very little has remained of its former grandeur. Today the monastery is to be re-established, including the re-construction of its buildings in order to operate again.
