Geocache Description:

The cache is part of the Athene Noctua series that will take you to old often abandoned villages and structures in Cyprus with the aim to take you to places that are often unknown to visitors and tourists but will add to your experience of this beautiful country. The cache is a regular size cylindrical container covered in camo tape.

The cache is located near the village of Dhrousia. Dhrousia is an interesting village to use as a center to explore the surrounding countryside. The village has a mild climate and a green setting amongst cypress and other trees, panoramic views and easy access to the sea. From the cache place you can look over the bay of Polis.

The cache is located next to the 15th century monastery of Agios Georgios (Ayios Yeorgios) Nikoxilitis to the east of the village. The monastery was destroyed by a fire in the 1920’s and has been partially rebuilt. The cache is near a surface road accessible by normal car.

Please respect the nature, the landscape and the people o Cyrpus when looking for our caches. Always remember we are guests in their country.

Small note on cache maintenance: the Platonas two have agreed to be our guardians in looking after this cache in the case we are not in Cyprus.
