VONDEL PARK - NETHERLANDS
Vondelpark is the largest city park in Amsterdam, and the most famous park in the Netherlands. It gets 10 million visitors a year. At nearly one kilometer in length and 200 m wide, Vondelpark has space enough for long, barefoot walks. If you walk its full length, find a path to cut through its thick, forested southern end, you feel as though you've left the city.
The name was adopted in 1867 when a statue of dutch poet Joost van den Vondel was situated into the park. He is considered the most prominent Dutch poet and playwright of the 17th century. Sculptor Louis Royer created the sculpture and the architect Pierre Cuypers designed the stand.
Vondelpark is also the location of the first dutch cache GC198
VONDEL PARK - EDGEMEAD
The park where this cache is placed is not this famous, it is much smaller, it does not get many visitors and has no statues. It is just a small urban park where many hours have been spent playing and climbing and having fun. The cache container is a locked box - see hint - home owners are aware of the cache
