Shanghai
Shanghai is an unincorporated town in Berkeley County, West Virginia. The town is nestled in Back Creek Valley between Leading Ridge and North Mountain. Shanghai lies at the junction of West Virginia Secondary Route 7 (Back Creek Valley Road) and Secondary Route 18 (Tuscarora Pike).
This small town is one of entrances into Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area. Sleepy Creek WMA is located on nearly 23,000 acres of mostly mixed hardwoods. Hunting options in Sleepy Creek WMA include deer, grouse, squirrel, turkey. Trapping opportunities can include bobcat, fox, and raccoon. Fishing opportunities in the 205-acre Sleepy Creek Lake include largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and northern pike. 75 rustic camping sites are provided at the WMA.
Sleepy Creek WMA is home to GR8Caches popular Take Me Home Country Roads Trail
This cache is located just off Hampshire Grade Road. Just up this mountain is Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area. There is parking near the cache. Enjoy this beautiful mountain.
