Geocache Description:

The bridge over Mures river

[en]The bridge over Mures river, also called the Mures Bridge, is the biggest bridge in Targu Mures, linking the main part of the city with Unirii quarter.

Near the bridge you can notice one of the former “communism glories”, Electromures SA, totally flooded in 1970 and 1975, the water level in production areas being as high as 4 meters. If you ask an elder from the neighborhood, maybe he’ll show you the signs still visible of the ’75 floods, way below than the ones from ’70.

The 10 floors blocks newly built on Aleea Carpati, near Mures river, were partially ‘occupied’ by the floodwaters.

But events like the one described and shown in “Apa ca un bivol negru”, according to the authorities, won’t happen again, the Mures river being regularized on almost its entire length.

If they are right or wrong, only time will tell us.

[ro] Podul peste raul Mures, numit si Podul Mures, este cel mai mare pod din Targu Mures, facand legatura intre partea principala a orasului si cartierul Unirii.

Langa pod se poate observa una din fostele “glorii ale comunismului”, Electromures SA, inundata total in 1970 si 1975, nivelul apei in halele de productie depasind pe alocuri 4 metri. Daca intrebati vreun pensionar din zona, poate o sa va arate urmele inca vizibile ale inundatiei din ’75, inferioare celor din ’70.

Blocurile de zece etaje proaspăt construite pe Aleea Carpati, langa raul Mures au devenit partial ocupate de apele revarsate.

Dar evenimente cum sunt cele aratate in “Apa ca un bivol negru”, declara autoritatile, nu vor mai avea loc, raul Mures fiind regularizat aproape pe intreaga sa lungime.

Daca au sau nu dreptate, doar timpul ne-o va zice.

Intorcandu-ne la oile noastre, va invitam sa admirati podul si sa gasiti cache-ul ascuns in zona.
