This is a nice little public fishing hole, suitable for small children. It's also a great place for birdwatching and dragonfly chasing. I've seen turtles sunning themselves on logs here, and always see a frog or two jump in the water when I walk close to the shoreline. On one side, there is a large flat boulder that makes a perfect seat for fishermen. Unfortunately, the wooden swing that was hanging in a tree is broken now. There is a long strip of grass that sometimes gets flooded after heavy rains. Good idea to bring a pair of boots, just in case.
On the other side of the pond is a large grassy area that would be a perfect place for a picnic.
The cache container is a small silver bison tube. It is easy to reach and hopefully, hidden well enough to be out of sight of muggles. There does appear to be some traffic here, despite the backroad location.
The ground is fairly dry today. Have fun and enjoy "this pond"...!
