Lucky Stars Traditional Cache

This is our first cache......so we placed it on the island across from our cottage where we could keep an eye on it. This island is frequently used by canoeists heading into or out of Killarney Park from the West side near Willisville. Locals call the it Horseshoe Island and the lucky folks that find our Cache called "Lucky Stars" should stick around and enjoy the spectacular array of stars in this most beautiful part of Northern Ontario.  

With the assistance of my oldest daughter's friend (VT), an experienced geocacher, we had a blast assembling this geocache with all sorts of goodies that campers, paddlers or anglers might need. Our youngest daughter (JF), just 6 years old, paddled to the island from our log cabin while the rest of slowly followed in the ski boat and tied off to a tree.  The cache container is decorated in branches, twigs and ferns and held together by Maple Leafs Duct Tape.....Go Leafs.  The cache container is a sealed white plastic container that used to hold my protein powder before we "recycled" it - roughly the size of a large orange juice jug.
