Geocache Description:

This is the first of a series of park and grabs to be placed with as much emphasis on the park as on the grab.  We hope it will be a good series for cachers who, while not necessarily wheelchair bound, find walking to be a bit of a chore.

A park and grab on a busy street. Be cool; you're probably going to get spotted.

It appears from the logs that some of you are trying to retrieve this cache from the parking lot side of the fence. I'm 6'1" and I'm not sure I could get this from that side. So I am officially giving permission, here and now, it is OK to walk on the public sidewalk.

Best Girl and I envision a series of caches where the walking distance from safe parking will not be far, but that does not mean it will never exceed ten feet.

What we will guarantee is that:
1) there will be parking on the same side of the street as the cache. People who walk a little slower, as we do, shouldn't have to wonder how long they will have to stand there waiting for a break in the traffic.
2) we will make every effort to keep the distance under fifty yards. Please don't blame us if you happen to get there during the Christmas shopping season and all the spaces within three miles are taken. Come back some other time.
3) the terrain will be reasonably level.

Now, as for the coming attractions. Best Girl and I love the movies. We're particularly partial to the talkies. We envision a series of caches based on various movie related themes and we invite your participation.

The first series will be dedicated to the all-time worst movies ever made. There are some very strong contenders for second place and following, but there is one movie that is so ghastly as to have gathered to itself broad-based critical acclaim as the worst movie ever made. Watch for it coming soon to a park and grab near you. We have not seen every movie ever made, so you can help by nominating the worst movies you have seen.

The second series will be dedicated to great lines. There is an intimidating abundance of very strong contenders. We have some in mind but you can help by sending us your nominations for movie lines that deserve to be immortalized in a cache.

There are other series that we are considering. For example, maybe the movie you saw wasn't so bad that it deserved to be in the worst movies ever made series, but was still bad enough that you walked out, or would have walked out if you hadn't been there for the second film of a double feature. Perhaps a series dedicated to some classic movie goofs, like the airplane flying overhead in The Last Samurai. Perhaps a series highlighting family conflict, ie. he loved it and she hated it, or vice versa. Put your marital movie squabbles out there for all to see and the rest of us can take sides.

The movies have been a big part of our culture for the past hundred years. Let's have some fun with them, and perhaps at their expense.
