Geocache Description:

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU HEAD OUT!

CHECK YOUR DEVICE FIRST, AND THEN BE PATIENT!

This cache requires a mobile Internet connection while finding the clues and geocache. If your connection fails and the site stops responding then you will have to start again.

PLEASE NOTE, I AM TRYING TO GIVE YOU A NEW WAY TO FIND GEOCACHES, THE SYSTEM IS NOT FOOLPROOF, BUT IT IS BEYOND MY CONTROL.

Put away your GPS, and get out your smartphone. This is a new style interactive cache taking you on a journey to sign a log!

What is an intercache?

An intercache is an interactive geocache, and a new way of creating a multi geocache. It is similar to a Wherigo geocache in the way that the final co-ordinates are obtained.

The biggest difference is that the entire geocache can be developed, edited, and played on your mobile phone's browser with no software required to download!  No cartridge/app required, just internet access in the field through your smartphone or tablet.

How do you play?

First, make sure you have a compatible device. Go to http://intercaching.com/intercache/ on your mobile phone or device and select the “test device” button.

It is recommended that you do this outside for best results.

You should see your current coordinates as well as the estimated accuracy.

If you see some reasonable readings then, you're all set! If you get an error, you may need to enable the GPS and other geolocation settings on your device.

If you do not have a smartphone or your device is not compatible, why not post a note on this cache page and arrange to team up with someone who has.

If your device is compatible, then what are you waiting for? You can go to the co-ordinates given on this page and then follow this link on you mobile phone or device - GAME START

**ADDED HELP**

Some players found that their game crashed, they also found that the arrow pointed them in the wrong direction for a while. Take note of the countdown and the obvious path.

SHOULD YOUR CONNECTION CRASH YOU CAN GO BACK TO THE MIDWAY POINT AND START FROM HERE.

A few hints -

Follow the instructions on the screen. You will see that there is a compass that has a red arrow pointing you towards the right direction as you move.

NOTE : You may have to walk a little bit before the arrow points in the right direction, this application doesn't have access to your phone's digital compass, (if it has one). It may therefore be a little slower than you are used to.

Here is a screenshot from my phone with the important bits highlighted/explained..

Some of the stages will prompt you to answer a question. You need to get the correct answer and input that whilst standing within the set 'zone' before it lets you move on.

In this case I am asking you to search for something which contains the answer. All of the locations should be obvious to someone who knows what they are looking for. Once you have the answer you are required to be within 60 feet of the given co-ordinates in order to input it. Once that is done correctly the next stage should appear.

Keep going until you reach the final stage, there is a cache there to be found.

You MAY also receive some other instructions during the course of your journey too.

This is a diferent and relatively new way of looking for a geocache. The intercache site is still in beta testing stage, but there are a lot of this type of cache in the U.S. and all are receiving positive comments.

I have tested this and I have walked the route on four occasions to check there is mobile service the whole way with my data provider. If for any reason there is a problem/the reception fails then I suggest that you keep going as the signal may be occasionally interrupted by the trees.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE 'SPECIAL EQUIPMENT' ATTRIBUTE HAS BEEN CHOSEN TO INDICATE THE NEED FOR A SMARTPHONE.

THE FIELD PUZZLE ATTRIBUTE INDICATES THE NEED TO CARRY OUT A TASK WHILST ON THE TRAIL

This is the first cache placed in the Log-opoly series, this is an occasional series linked to a points scoring competition organised by the CO.  You can join in and play along too, here's a link to the website where all is explained. PLEASE NOTE that there is no need to be playing the game in order to find this cache. The log-opoly web-site is found here - LOG-OPOLY SITE

The Difficulty Rating of this cache is higher than I would usually set due to the requirement of the player to utilise a new treasure hunting technique.
