Geocache Description:

This is the replica of the Columbia Mine Poppet Head and equimpment used in and around the mines on display.

Parking is available.

Gathering point of muggles.

Replica of the poppethead at Columbia mine in Charters Towers. The headframe is built over the real shaft extending to a depth of 1768 feet. The site was first granted a lease in the late 1800s; it was originally known as 'Queen Block Extended'.
