Geocache Description:

The Ordnance Quick-Firing 6-pounder 7 cwt, or just 6 pounder, was a British 57 mm gun, their primary anti-tank gun during the middle of World War II, as well as the main armament for a number of armoured fighting vehicles. It was first used in North Africa in April 1942, and quickly replaced the 2 pounder in the anti-tank role, allowing the 25 pounder to revert to its intended artillery role. The United States Army also adopted the 6 pdr as their primary anti-tank gun under the designation 57 mm Gun M1.

The idea of manufacturing the 6 pounder in the U.S. was expressed by the U.S. Army Ordnance in February 1941. At that time the U.S. Army still favored the 37mm Gun M3 and production was planned solely for lend lease. The U.S. version, classified as substitute standard under the designation 57 mm Gun M1, was based on the 6 pounder Mk 2, two units of which were received from the UK.

Kind of DISCLAMER: Well, for all of you who like the cache - THANK YOU! ... and forthe rest who has/had a comment, please let me say a thing or two... ...when I started with geocaching I still had not have my own GPS, I just had official one from the unit and I was inside of KAIA camp at Kabul, Afghanistan and my first found cache was inside the camp, in deployment. Take time and search through caches in Afghanistan and it would be a real wonder to find any cache outside of camps... ...if it was not in Kosovo, as deployment, I would shurely would not placed a cache inside of a military camp, but this I consider a gray zone... ...so do not judge is it according to the rules, but enjoy the chance to cache in KFOR! Not all personell have a chance to go outside the camps, much less to cache around. I have geocached in KFOR and I am very thankfull for that chance, I have really enjoyed it, can you?!? ;) Been there, done that in KFOR :)
