Geocache Description:

This cache is a magnetic nano container, after the originals disappeared. You will need your own pen. Stealth required due to overlooking houses. This cache can be done as a drive by or as part of a small circular walk around the village. This cache is part of a series of caches which are placed at or near village halls and community centres. This is a series which other cachers can add to and expand into other geographical areas. See the bookmark list for all the caches in the series.

Goosnargh is a village that lies between Broughton and Longridge and mostly lies in the parish of Whittingham.  The name, meaning "Gosan's or Gusan's hill pasture", derives from (an "Old Irish personal name) and erg (Norse for "hill pasture"). The village has 2 pubs; the Stags Head and the Grapes. There is an Angllican church and a Methodist Church and one primary school. The village holds an annual festival on the first Saturday after the Spring Bank Holiday Monday during which there is a procession through the village. The procession includes decorated floats, fancy dress, maypole dancing and marching bands.  If you would like to expand the Village Hall Series by placing a cache of your own please contact GeoJaxx first to request a number and to add the cache to the bookmark list.
