BRPT - 32 The Nuns Traditional Cache

The 5th wave of the Blackrock Power Trail starts at the back of Dalkey Village and meanders down Coliemore Road and onto Vico Road --- all the while giving cachers magnificent views over Dalkey Island and Killiney Bay.  There is easy access to this part of the Power Trail from the Dalkey DART Station.

The Cache
The 32nd cache in the BRPT takes you near the entrance road of Loreto College in Dalkey.   Well actually, the cache is positioned well away from college itself and is near the crossroads of Convent Road (great name!), Leslie Avenue and Harbour Road.  Follow the narrow road down the hill if you want to see the magnificent College – it has some of the best real estate on offer in Dublin.  Typical nuns!

There are a lot of muggles around this area (mostly in their 80’s and 90’s!) so be sure to chat away if you are acosted by a Local.  When placing this particular cache, I got chatting with a lovely little old lady (aged 93!!! or so she told me) about Planning Permission in and around Dalkey.  It’s all very “cloak and dagger” she said

The Blackrock Power Trail Series (BRPT)
The series started its life in Idrone Terrace on Dublin Bay behind Blackrock Village and has now spread both north-west and south-east from the original Cache.
