Greatland Reviewer: Hello Thesiechempire:

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of response to one or more prior Reviewer Note(s) about issue(s) with the cache. If you would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

Picked up a travel bug a while back which inspired us to drop a few caches based on it and Army aviation.

We are starting this off with a travel bug found on our caching hunts with our kids. We also included a helicopter to represent our Army aviation family and a family marker.

We picked this location to provide the seeker with a opportunity to view the remainders of military aviation history and to see Army aviation at its best. Across the street from the cache is Wheeler Army Air Field (WAAF). On December 7, 1941, Wheeler was one of the sites additionally attacked during the attack on Pearl Harbor. It is a national historic landmark. What fascinates us most is the bullet holes still visible on the tarmac from the attack.

Additionally, Wheeler is home to the 25th CAB; including the Army's greatest Kiowa (58's) Unit- 2/6 CAV. If you wait long enough at the cache location you can witness aircraft at flight. Go AIR CAV! There is room for more swag and we would love to have some more army and/or aviation related swag.
