Spring Caching In The Bluies - 2013 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Team Webguy: Another Spring, another event and so it goes, a great turn out on a bit of a warm and windy spring day in the bluies. Challenging to keep a tarp erected and in place, but it survived for the duration of the event.

Thanks to all that came, still a single coin in the event, so hopefully that gets removed soon.

Looking forward to the upcoming events.

Geocache Description:

Ahh Spring, a time when a young man and womans thoughts turn to.... CACHING!

The Blue Mountains to the west of Sydney are a caching paradise, good sized caches, Aliens, Badmen, Zombies, amazing locations, challenges of the physical, mental and technical, what more could you want really? An event perhaps?? This really is the NEW social event of the year for anyone who caches on the mountains and right at the start of the season too!

This is the the first gathering in spring on the lower mountains and is set to become the "OTHER" social event of the year on the mountains! Spring in the Bluies, what a time of year, it could be blue skies, or, it could be raining and cold, you just don't know what the day will bring! So just come prepared for any weather conditions and you will be fine.

Events are a great opportunity to come along and meet some of your fellow cachers who share a passion for geocaching, no matter what your experience, age or sex, everyone is welcome to turn up. Many great friendships have been made by coming to events such as this, come along and spend the afternoon talking geocaching and learning more about the electronic side of caching. It's also a great opportunity to meet the people who are placing the caches you are doing, and beat them up.

As usual this will be a pretty informal event, no black suit and tie affairs here but please, even though it is informal - wear clothing - there will be no NUDING UP FOR A SMILIE this year!! This is being held at Lennox Park at Glenbrook/Blaxland, there are NO BBQ's, but there are a few seats and tables, swings and toilets. We do suggest you bring chairs and perhaps some shelter as the main shade trees here are just starting to bud now and may not be covered by the time of this event. I'd even go so far as to say, bring a roll of loo paper as well because the toilets here had none.

The park is due for a massive facelift, and we do not know when this is due to start, so, if for some reason, they decide to start and close the park, we will post a note and an alternate location.

Turn up when you want from say 1:00pm onwards.

Don't be shy now!! If you have some coins or bugs, bring them along! People would love to view and discover them.

We would love to see you at the event - Hope to see you there!

Don't forget to post a "Will Attend" log to say you are coming and with how many people.

Lastly, make sure you put this on your watch list so you get any updates as they happen.
