Placed this here as the start of clacton carnival arrives, It leaves not to far from here, and this year the theme is musicals.
Carnival in Clacton can trace its origins back to 1920 and, from an early stage, Clacton Urban District Council, as it was prior to the 1980's, ran the carnival in order to support the Clacton Cottage Hospital in Freeland Road. A quick search of Pathe News websitecomes up with film clips of Clacton Carnival from 1925 and 1935. Congrats FTF to jarod20
