Geocache Description:

Should be a fairly simple find along the Hasenclever Iron (yellow blaze) trail. BYOP.

Wild-WildBill and I are volunteers for the NY/NJ Trail Conference's Invasives Strike Force.  Found this spot while out surveying this trail for invasive plant species - the trail is highly infected with Japanese barberry, burning bush, garlic mustard and more. This portion of the Hasenclever Iron trail is an easy hike. After finding the cache, you can follow the trail west to the Sterling Ridge/Highland Trails - there are historical information signs along the way. Irene did a number on the bridge across the Wanaque river, so you won't be able to cross over and visit the Long Pond Iron Works furnaces and water wheel, but you can head north along a picturesque path that borders the river for awhile. If you go NE on the Hasenclever Iron trail, you'll have to turn back after several miles because the trail is closed at Peter's mine. See the NYNJ Trail Conference Trail Map 115 for more details. Hope you enjoy the area!

The cache itself is only big enough for the log. BYOP.
