Geocache Description:

All Saints Cockthorpe, a tiny church within walking distance of Stiffkey. The cache has been placed as part of the national Church Micro series as well as part of a planned circular route.

All Saints dates from the 14th century, however it underwent some comprehensive rebuilding in the late 15th century, although the tiny chancel almost certainly survives from before this. Although now redundant as a place of worship, it is now in the care of the Norfolk Churches Trust. If anyone has additional information about the church, I will gladly update this information.

The cache has been placed just outside the grounds of the church and is a straightforward, and easily accessible, traditional cache, containing a log book and pencil. There is room for small trackables. There is no need to dismantle walls or vegetation. The cache is in view, although camoflaged. Less than 20 metres walking in total should be required. There is a good car parking area right by the church. It could be done as a 'cache and dash, although it has been placed as the first cache in a planned circular route. The cache needs to be replaced as found, otherwise it might otherwise be too noticable. Due to the close proximity of the church, and a good number of mature oaks, the co-ordinates may well 'bounce around a bit' so be prepared to allow +/- 5 m. The hints should be more than sufficient to compensate for this however.

There is an excellent cache just a short drive down the road from this one: GC2V41B Langham Dome Trainer, which, if you haven't already visited it, I thoroughly recommend.
