Geocache Description:

P&G at the Slate Lick P&R (Park n Ride). This one is most definitely handicapped accessible!

Slate Lick is a rural village that got it's name from the fact that deer used to come to this area to lick salt from the slate rocks found in this area. The village came in to being in the late 1700s.  It was the site of the first church established in Armstrong County, a Presbyterian church, which started meeting in 1798 and was formally recognized in 1802. The first saw mill in the county was built near here in 1805.
